Most of the time publishers or webmasters are unaware of the fraudelent clicks that have been made. It could be an accident or simply ignorance. But the publisher could definitely suffer in the end.

So what are the ways that a click fraud is committed? Here’s a short list :

1. Telling your facebook, social, myspace friends to click on your ads. If caught, you risk of being banned from Google Adsense and lose your income stream forever.

2. Putting Advertisements of Google in Pop-Ups and beside pictures in order to “entice” and “draw” the attention of visitors to click on your ads.

3. Putting words, images or javascripts to tell your customers to click on your ads. ( This is a mistake committed by most newbie website owners.

4. Believing that “click fraud” cannot and will never be detected. It is not true that “small” or “minor” click frauds will never be detected. Advertisers and Google are getting better and better in detecting click fraud. They have come up with proprietary softwares that detects clicks coming from the same computer,IP address and same geographic region in one area. It is really a very dangerous game to play. Google’s business is based on genuine search and if they allow “click fraud” their Google Adwords business will soon fail. It is easy to understand that Google will definitely protect their advertisers from scrupulous and malicious acts.

So what are you going to do if you received a letter that your account was suspended or banned by Google?
Well, it would entirely depend if you did something wrong. If you did, it would definitely foolish to ask Google to enable your account after committing “Click Fraud”. If you haven’t committed any violations and you believe your account was suspended without due reason, it would not hurt to contact Google Right away.

Google Adsense has been providing me with a steady stream of income and it would be wise for you not to violate any of its rules and policies because it will just bite you in the end.
